Active/Swim Company in Long Island looking for Product Development Associate to  join their PD team.  Responsible for maintaining the product from concept all the way to production and work cross functionally between departments.  Active/Swim or Knit experience preferred 1 – 3 years experience. Shuttle to train station.  
 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Key liaison between production, marketing, design, sales, and pattern making
  • Maintains tracking charts for fit, trim, L/Ds & S/Os, and salesman samples
  • Liaise with our overseas factory/mill matrix in a timely manner
  • Approve samples and production in conjunction with patternmaker and designer
  • Takes notes based on changes in the fittings to communicate these changes to the factories while partnering with pattern-making.
  • Build seasonal tech packs
  • Maintain style masters
  • Partner with design and marketing to create line lists
  • Organize & communicate to the factory any special sample requests (Athlete Samples)
  • Review and pass off the seasonal line to production
  • Partner with design and pattern making to maintain quality standards from 1st fit through TOP
  • Review & provide codes for marketing trim to marketing for new seasonal styles

Qualifications 

  • Garment construction and raw materials experience: Knits/Wovens, stretch fabrics, dyeing, finishing
  • Swimwear/Activewear experience preferred. Sportswear will be considered.
  • Experience with fitting garments and creating and revising specs
  • Have strong Microsoft Office and Google Workspace skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, strong follow-up skills, and a leader
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize work according to the seasonal calendar
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task

Education and Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years of industry experience in a sourcing, product development role
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
